Growing update!

Hey there!

A little bit of a different post today, focusing on the allotment. I usually reserve updates and pictures for Facebook and Instagram, but I’m going to push the boat out – it’s my blog after all! 🙂

I have had a very content couple of weeks, spending most of the days planting and sowing and browsing around various garden centres.

Starting on Saturday of the bank holiday weekend, I spent the afternoon at my parents’ house doing some Spring maintenance work! Pruning back branches and dead foliage, weeding, and watering; with the help of my little nephew of course!

I feel so blessed to have such beautiful natural spaces to walk Delta in, and we’ve discovered a lovely route to take full of bluebells, greenery, and wild garlic.

And to top it off, my friend and I managed to dig over a very large part of my plot and transfer plenty of seedlings. Broccoli, beetroot, peas, carrots, parsnips, cabbage, and runner beans. I’m leaving it a little longer before planting out the sweetcorn and tomatoes.

A hard Saturday's work!
Broccoli stars - all planted out!
Sweetcorn has been potted on and moved to the polytunnel for a little while longer.

A casualty earlier in the week, just shows how hard the ground was after having no rain.
Doing my very best Charlie Dimmock impersonation!

I know there hasn’t really been anything instructional or helpful this week, but I hope you’ve enjoyed a little update from me!

If you’re interested, here’s a link to my first post, with a ‘before’ picture of the plot;

See you soon!
